WHAT IS A DIETITIAN WIN?

It’s a success story, an accomplishment, a task checked off your never-ending to-do list as a dietitian. It can be big (like the results of a Malnutrition Pilot Program) or small (like completing your first test tray audit), because we know even the small things make a big difference. Be sure to include a picture with your submission, too!

Desirae Suggs, RD, LD

“We work to make sure the role of the dietitian is not only seen but felt. We each have our own strengths and together we have used synergy to problem solve, learn a new charting system, and provide exceptional patient-centered care. To ensure continuity of care, we developed thorough notes in OneNote that includes updates on current tube feed patients, daily announcements, ICU information, and core competencies. We work well together and look forward to continuing to make a difference in patient care.”

Rachel Niermann, RD, LD

“Our dietitian team has experienced quite a few changes over the last several years including hiring of new dietitians and leadership, different work processes, and relocations to new office spaces. The team has been flexible to these changes and very supportive of each other throughout these changes. This team works so well together and continues to provide excellent patient care in all areas they cover.”

Victoria Ardoin

“My team and I work in the NICU. We love what we do and help to provide feeds for the babies in the unit. While caring for these babies, we get to work closely, and connect, with the families. One day, my teammate Rachael and I were delivering feeds for a baby, and picking up maternal breast milk used to help make the feeds. We always tell the mom, “Good job with pumping, you’re doing great!” They had a short stay in the NICU and on the day they were set to discharge, she came to find us and let us know that because of our encouragement, she kept pumping, even when volumes were low or a struggle. She felt so proud to continue to pump and provide milk for her little one. We were so overjoyed to hear that too. It’s why we do what we do.”
