How travel dietitians are paid
For traveling RDs, in addition to an hourly W-2 wage, you receive an untaxed travel stipend that can be put towards the cost of living in the area. For this reason, it’s usually easier to think about travel compensation in a weekly amount as opposed to an hourly rate since there are two components to it. Usually, our weekly travel rates can be anywhere from $1,850-2,200/week.
If you are interested in a travel role and would like to know compensation, you can always reach out to Emily!
What it’s like to be a travel dietitian
About 35 percent of the dietitians who work for us are traveling dietitians. Working with traveling dietitians is great because it allows Regional Account Managers to fill a position faster, especially if a local candidate can’t be found right away. Plus, it’s a great gig for a dietitian with a sense of adventure. If you’re looking for everything you need to know about becoming a travel dietitian, we have a blog for that!
