$40 – $48 per hour
40 Hours/week | ASAP – 6 month duration 
Outpatient Diabetes Management
Travel/mileage offered, pending location | 2 years of RD experience, Diabetes management experience, and CDCE strongly preferred
Weekdays, daytime hours

Situated between beached on either side of the peninsula, Newport News, VA offers its inhabitants tons of fun activities in the summer, great seafood, and gorgeous views. This is a perfect position for a dietitian who is looking for a diabetes management role. 

Key Duties

• Provide personalized nutrition counseling and medical nutrition therapy for various medical conditions, specifically diabetes self management 
• Assess and provide recommendations for patients 
• Insulin/pump education with endocrinologist guidance
• Utilize behavior modification strategies and techniques to optimal nutrition counseling
• Evaluate achievement of learning objectives and provide appropriate treatment plan in accordance with patient goals
• Utilize nutrition-related information systems and/or patient medical record systems to successfully document recommendations and progress
• Demonstrates accountability for the proper use of patients’ protected health information
• Ability to perform work independently with minimal training

Required Licenses/Certifications

• Current Registered Dietitian credentialed by CDR
• CDCE strongly preferred
